PRAYER REVOLUTION
What would your spiritual health look like if you prayed at least 30 minutes each day, even 60 minutes? “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?” – Jesus (Mt 26:40). In a culture obsessed with physical and mental health, it is time to appropriately focus on enriching our spiritual health to be the well-rounded disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to be.
What difference would it make for the Church and the world if Catholics had a nourishing relationship with God through prayer? Countless people desire to pray and grow closer to Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit. The problems people encounter have more to do with understanding that prayer is much more than saying memorized words, learning how to pray deeply, making a commitment to consistent prayer, having a prayer mentor, and being lovingly held accountable.
This prayer revolution is about allowing God to change lives through daily encounters with him in prayer. It begins with a commitment to daily prayer, fostered by an exploration of the rich traditions and various forms of Catholic prayer, and establishing a support system to ensure spiritual progress. Prayer Revolution is available as a 1, 2, or 3 talk series. The 2 or 3 talk option includes the popular “9 Levels of Prayer” talk (details below).
The Nine Levels of Prayer from the Spiritual Master Saints: How a Deeper Prayer Life May Be Different and Better Than You Imagine – Is every type of prayer equal? What is the ultimate goal of prayer? How can I deepen my prayer life? What obstacles to prayer are normal? How can obstacles be overcome? Explore these questions and more from Anthony’s experience studying spirituality under Dr. Mark Miravalle at Franciscan University of Steubenville, based on the work of Fr. Jordan Aumann at the Angelicum in Rome.

“The great mystical tradition…shows how prayer can progress, as a genuine dialogue of love, to the point of rendering the person wholly possessed by the divine Beloved, vibrating at the Spirit’s touch, resting filially within the Father’s heart. It is a journey totally sustained by grace, which nonetheless demands an intense spiritual commitment and is no stranger to painful purifications (the ‘dark night’). But it leads, in various possibly ways, to the ineffable joy experienced by the mystics as ‘nuptial union.’” – Pope St. John Paul II
